acceptance

peaceful spring night: the
mouse gives itself to the jaws
of the dancing cat.

last day of school

late spring full moon. my
neighbor’s cough lands on my hand:
a single raindrop

downtime

quiet moonlit night:
the cat, wasting no time, stalks
the moon’s reflection

noir

the sense that, in the midst of what you sense,
heart and all, the main event
eludes you. then, a bunch of friends race by
on bikes, in midnight rain.

examination

standing in spring rain
next to the gate–who listens?
roses in streetlight
