making the world safe
for kids to walk in takes one
handshake at a time

1st period

cramping legs, calm mind
beams creak, a rush of cold wind
penetrates the walls

huh-huh-huh-huh

casserole: the hip-hop of the kitchen.
several samples, layered in
with sauce. cut up something fresh to give it
that rhyming taste that lingers.

lullaby ii

mama loves you, baby
and dadú loves you too
mama loves you, baby
and dadú loves you too
we have different ways of livin’
but we share our love for you

mama gives you hot dogs,
dadú feeds you beans and rice
mama gives you hot dogs,
dadú feeds you beans and rice
dadú’s often grumpy,
and mama is oh so nice

when you’re in a pickle
try to heed the words i say
when you’re in a pickle
try to heed the words i say
don’t worry ’bout tomorrow
and forget about yesterday

take your bow and arrow
and aim it at the moon
take your bow and arrow
and aim it at the moon
whatever hurt you’re feelin’
will feel much diff’rent soon

lullaby

we learn to love from being loved, from loving,
and from watching others love.
turn the triple wheel, and learn to notice
where it wobbles. go.
